One in 7 people worldwide are estimated to have a neurodiverse condition such as ADHD, autism, dyspraxia, dyslexia and Tourette’s syndrome. In her keynote presentation, Sargent will share insights gleaned from a recent survey of 202 neurodiverse individuals to determine how the design of space impacts people who have variations in human neurocognitive functioning. Insights from the survey can help workplace designers and product manufacturers create spaces that are more supportive and inclusive for neurodiverse employees.

Clients are working to project what the next 5 or 7 years might bring in terms of work styles, user engagement, and space utilization, but if the last couple of years have taught us anything, it’s that we need to be able to adapt to any situation. Our designers are looking to find malleable solutions that meet the needs of our clients short term needs while allowing them to adapt their space as their process or needs evolve over the next few years. It is important to find flexible solutions to support our ever-changing world, but also to help our clients meet sustainability goals, foster a culture of creating less waste through thoughtful reconfigurations, and to provide varied types of environments to promote wellbeing within the built environment.
